Biagio Trofa ( letter , Nov 5 ) makes a valid point about Froma Harrop's now negative view of DNC based " identity politics " :

As a long time INDEPENDENT democratic socialist I see economic CLASS- not RACE or ethnicity - offering a more lucid explanation of much enduring social injustice.
Behind the vicious " identity politics " is a not so subtle defense and promotion of always invidious , aggressive affirmative action.
Does not the mainstream news media , for example , telling the black community everyday that WHITE SUPREMACY is still keeping them down , encourage a psychotic chip on the shoulder ? And even explains a notable increase in " black community " faces in the even more deplorable CRIME NEWS ?
Always unmasking " racism " is a smear tactic on millions of white working class Christians -who are no doubt still tempted to re-elect President Donald Trump. Nope , no HATE here -only justified resentment at the New McCarthyism.
