Journalist social critic Chris Hedges should be wary of the totalitarian Left

I am only recently introduced to passionate social critic Chris Hedges. I don't know if THE SOLUTION to capitalism in advanced decay is the usual dogmatic Marxist proposals : for example, a VANGUARD party of the working class. ALL the sectarian parties that I am familiar with on the Left are miserable personality cults- similar to the Church of Scientology with its herd of daffy " Clears " - clueless about " democratic centralism " and weirdly hostile to Christianity , to Catholicism in particular.

 

 The biggest mistake of the old Soviet Union was to declare itself " officially atheist " soon after the triumph of 1917 Bolshevik Revolution. 

           What we do need is the insight that Chris Hedges and other social critics ( often blackballed ) like him bring to the oppressed and exploited of decaying capitalism.

            The creepy TOTALITARIAN Left is not the solution to this crisis of civilization, to this crisis of the human species on a possibly dying planet. 

                It does help to think life has some TRANSCENDENT meaning and purpose. I read that Chris Hedges is a graduate of Harvard Divinity School . I can't picture him singing in tune with the obnoxious New Atheists , the ugliness of the Christian Right notwithstanding .
