Message to WPRO's Gene Valicenti on the Socialism Paradox

Subject: Gene, Socialism is NOT bad BUT many " socialist " parties are
To: Gene <Gene@630wpro.com>

Gene, I am a regular morning listener of your 630WPRO show. I commend you for being an excellent professional . Still as an IDEA socialism gets no respect in the capitalist controlled news media.

What I would like to explain in a longer e-mail is why so many socialist parties become toxic personality cults and the very micro image of the TOTALITARIAN society that most politically literate individuals dread.

I  myself am a SOCIALIST in my devotion to the IDEA ( somewhat Platonic really ) . But an inner wise voice ( my own pre-Vatican II guardian angel ) has warned me not to waste a minute of my life in any of these shabby -run by Little Stalins - socialist parties ( when they participate in elections they rarely get one percent of the vote ). THE PARTY is usually a profitable enterprise for the guy at the top, BIG BROTHER, who could just as easily recruit " Clears " for the infamous Church of Scientology .

What is shocking is how many decent and intelligent and idealistic individuals can fall under the spell of dime store tyrant.    They are pitiful examples of clueless followers of one more Satanic " god that failed ".

But SOCIALISM is still GOOD - not BAD ( for many millions ) .

I just want to WARN THE KIDS about crackpot " socialist " cults. Respect the Western Civilization tradition of FREE SPEECH and FREE THOUGHT and reverence for a Supreme Being ( however conceived ) .

As the great Russian writer Dostoevsky said : " If God does not exist, everything is permitted ".  CIVILIZATION demands that everything NOT be permitted !
