The gas pipeline disaster in Newport - Rhode Island government subservient to BIG ENERGY

Newport, Rhode Island: Enbridge natural gas pipeline failure put thousands at risk

"The working class in Newport and nearby Middletown struggle to get by in the shadows of the ruling elite’s mansions and yachts ".

I live in Cranston, Rhode Island and visit scenic Newport several times a year, mostly in summer.
Driving past those famous, magnificent Bellevue Ave. mansions is a most instructive lesson in America as a CLASS society. The movie " The Great Gatsby " was filmed at Rosecliff . Yes, " the rich are different from us " .

Visiting " The Breakers " I was reminded of a scene in the movie " Doctor Zhivago with the Russian Revolution as background. An indignant Bolshevik reproaches the former owners of a mansion : " There was room in this house for thirteen families ".

I am not sure that gas pipeline disaster in Newport and Aquidnik Island is all over. But how can you order ordinary working class people to abandon their homes without a PLAN ? How poorly is this capitalist economy prepared for mass emergencies . What to expect after an atomic bomb attack ?

What about the sick and the elderly ? So few have platinum credit cards ready for unpleasant unexpected events.

It could easily have been a little Katrina. The Rhode Island state government - led by Queen Gina Raimondo - is hopelessly subservient to BIG ENERGY .

This is what to expect here from the Democratic Party " friends of labor " . And our useless " friends " in organized labor.
