Monotheism once complemented cosmopolitism

Smearing of Corbyn as an anti-Semite prepares right-wing breakaway from Labour

"The campaign by an alliance of the Labour Party’s right-wing, Zionist groups and the Conservative Party to portray party leader Jeremy Corbyn and his supporters as anti-Semites has reached new levels of ferocity. "

For decades I have wondered if the " progressive " , once truly COSMOPOLITAN Jewish left, is no more . I can't imagine, for example, the late Irving Howe, author of " The World of Our Fathers " talking and writing as if he never had been smitten by " socialist internationalism ". In fact in the late 60s Howe was a fairly good anti-dote to some New Left nonsense- and an excellent literary critic .

These pseudo-left Jewish voices today have succumbed to old fashioned ( well described in the Old Testament ) IDOLATRY .

Not to believe in God but still to believe that you are special before the laws of History is remarkable Orwellian " double-think ".

Any and every country may be " God's Country " but that does not mean that any racial or ethnic group has a perpetual -and EXCLUSIVE - claim on it . Monotheism once complemented cosmopolitism .
