The pseudo-Left as the future elite of James Burnham's " managerial society " ?

"The ISO sees the growth of the DSA as an opportunity, but also views it with concern. It above all wants to ensure that any leftward movement of young people is infused with support for imperialism. It functions as an arm of the State Department in the milieu of pseudo-left politics. "

Any brand of " socialism " worthy of the name is incompatible with imperialism or any form of nationalism or narrow minded ethnic pride. Do we have to remind these" socialists " that capitalism must be abolished ?They make the old British Fabians ( read Leon Trotsky on H.G. Wells ) look like rash and reckless ultra-lefts !

I will bet more than a few are puffed up by academic honors and degrees. Malcolm X joked about this type in his Harlem speeches :

[ "Dear Nigger Professor." That was the beginning of a message that was sent to me. There is nothing to be cherished here, despite the salutation. Years ago, Malcolm X asked, "What does a white man call a black man with a Ph.D.?" He answered: "A nigger with a Ph.D." ]

Perhaps their anti-capitalism is sincere but only while they see themselves as a FUTURE elite - as pictured in James Burnham's " The Managerial Society " -which George Orwell correctly reviewed as " fascist ". No accident that Burnham teamed up with right wing godfather William F. Buckley in the McCarthy era .

Writes the doomed Winston Smith in " 1984 " : " If there is hope , it lies in the proles ".
