Subversive Chinese " Confucius Institutes " in the United States ?

 

Xenophobia has always been rather ridiculous in the USA - a land that immigrants built . For months now local news media and the " celebrity " idiots of Talk Radio have been getting paranoid over a number of these Chinese based " Confucius Institutes "- one of them on the University of Rhode Island campus.

 WE are being brainwashed with Confucius Thought ? But what if the Chinese should have a shocking " Mao Revival " in the near future ? Will Mao posters begin to be seen here and there on the URI campus ? And that " Little Red Book " sneaked into the library shelves ? There are many UN-AMERICAN roads to C-O-M-M-U-N-I-S-M .

             But who can imagine anything subversive about good old Confucius ? Well, in Old China the followers of Confucius cultivated respect for the elderly .
