Trade war and the eruption of economic nationalism

British philosopher Bertrand Russell was a courageous and distinguished opponent of the First World War. In his biography he wrote that most people now cannot imagine how much The Great War changed everything. Also in Germany working class Socialism did seem on the brink of triumph.

It was betrayed there and in many other " advanced " capitalist nations by brainless, toxic nationalism. German " socialists " voted to slaughter French and English working people. Then Wilsonian blather helped to settle the conflict. To their credit Lenin's Bolsheviks exposed the secrets of the war.

These fatuous and bloody PHRASES like " freedom " and " sovereign nations " and " democracy " are still heard today to arouse homicidal emotions in the masses- yes, anything but CLASS war.

Like lemmings in the USA today most" liberal " ( Democrat ? ) journalists -as if in trance - talk with sanctimonious indignation about Russian sabotage of OUR " democracy ". A nuclear holocaust to avenge " Corrupt Hillary " ?

Is this lunacy contagious ? I can't find any working class person losing sleep over Vladimir Putin spoiling the chances of Hawk Hillary to be president of the United states.

And it insults even those working class " deplorables " in the Rust Belt states to suggest that they needed Putin's guidance to reject Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election.

Will we still hear the " Russia collusion " mantra in the fall ? It is worthy of Franz Kafka's cult classic " The Trial "
