" Homeless in America " -not just Boston - has been periodic news in the mainstream news media since the beginning of the Reagan era - which marked the end of several decades of post war prosperity ( celebrated in a 1955 " Life Magazine " editorial ).
But the inner laws of capitalism are not altered by periods of " prosperity " that touch even the nation's working class.
The PROBLEM of homelessness can only be solved when capitalist PRIVATE PROPERTY RIGHTS cease to be sacrosanct.
Vacant Buildings do for the homeless what crop destruction does for the hungry. What matters for capitalism is what is profitable. A JOB is something that some capitalist finds useful for money making. Even our children are defined as PRIVATE PROPERTY : you had them; YOU pay for them ! Even a rotting human corpse is somebody's FAMILY problem.
To WHOM does this make sense ? The common people ?
