Italian-American sympathy for the terrorized immigrant

Coming from an Italian-American background Mary Ann Sorrentino is no doubt naturally sympathetic to the ” terrorized immigrant ” in America. On this Saint Patrick’s Day it is fitting to recall the awful plight of Catholic Irish immigrants who came here during that horrendous potato famine.

But Sorrentino’s devotion to the Democratic Party makes her blind to the plight of white working class Americans - rightfully estranged from the Democratic Party - who vote for Donald Trump as the ” lesser evil ” not ” Hawk Hillary. They are only lacking in leadership -not humanity .

Also the Democratic Party has become increasingly hostile to religion , especially the Catholic Church - which at least preserves its ” progressive ” if not ” socialist ” social philosophy .
