As one with an Italian surname I appreciate " respect " too. But I reject this bullying " identity politics ". Ethno-centrism cum CHIP ON SHOULDER is not very attractive . And since when were Italians noted for humorless Puritanism ?
Ruining people for episodic foolishness does not create good will in the community. It creates smoldering resentment , the very kind that led those Italian immigrant " victims " to an appointment with Godfather Don Corleone.
