Mobster " Uncle Raymond " as King Arthur ?

Meme 'racist against Italians' prompts call for Providence party chairman to quit

One of the unstated themes of " The Godfather " is old fashioned family values: in a rotten evil world only THE FAMILY can protect you from numerous, malevolent enemies. Only THE FAMILY can find you a place in the sun. THE FAMILY needs alliances with other " threatened " families  .

And it needs friends in high places- in filthy City Hall or in the holy of holy Vatican.
For more than a century American capitalism has been destroying THE FAMILY - turning us into atomized weaklings , groveling at the feet of two bit bosses, puffed up celebrities, slum lords, bully cops, corrupt judges, union goons.

As the ancient world longed for a KING to protect the common people from arrogant nobility, the BIG CITY jungles today seem to need an " Uncle Raymond " at least on THE HILL to keep a " peace " not detrimental to shabby, underworld respectable " business "- SURVIVAL for many otherwise " unemployables " or " deplorables ".

And a tough guy with enough neighborhood clout to tell a young punk : " Be a man ! "
I remember the day Raymond Patriarca died. The man serving me coffee at a local diner said " He was a perfect gentleman ". I thought of King Arthur, the Round Table, and Camelot.
