The
root of the problem is that the profession of psychiatry in the United
States ( read any of the works of Erich Fromm- like " The Sane Society
") has for many years now become a tool of " adjustment " to capitalist
society rather than an intelligent and civil critic of it. It lacks even
the boldness of old Freud ( " Civilization and its Discontents " ).
Is it " scientific " to think that human social evolution culminates with the American capitalism and its world hegemony and the Trump Junta -or the Hillary Democrats- in the White House ?
Is there anything about " human nature " that precludes a RATIONAL social order ?
