Very Crowded RIPTA buses are tragedy waiting to happen

 

This morning instead of catching an early ( before 8:00AM ) RIPTA BUS 30 in Knightsville, Cranston  I decided to get on RIPTA BUS 17, number 1335, at the Stop & Shop center ( Phenix Ave, Cranston ) .

 The bus was empty when I got on. But along Weybosset St it suddenly got very crowded, then it got alarmingly crowded with kids going to school. There were young women with babies up front.

 I wondered if the RIPTA driver had  ANY rules for the passenger number. Just crowd them all into the bus until it was physically impossible to add another passenger ?

       I decided to film the scene with my smart phone digital camera. This can only be GREED at work. Why not send an extra bus at this time of day ? 

      These VERY CROWDED RIPTA Buses are a tragedy waiting to happen.
