@William Barry Thank you. But the very word " freedom " cannot be debated intelligently without reference to the CLASS structure of society. What makes " socialism " a challenging propaganda task is the intellectual heritage of 5000 years of " civilization " - from ancient Egypt, to Greek and Roman slave civilizations, to the feudal Middle Ages, to the modern bourgeois capitalism after the Great French Revolution of 1789. 

The PRIVATE PROPERTY soul is a tough nut to crack. But the freedom of CAPITAL is now incompatible with the freedom and the sanity of the human race. A nuclear war or another Great Plague will see capitalist governments protecting what is left of PRIVATE PROPERTY- not saving the people or what is left of civilization.« less
