As a democratic socialist myself I cannot testify to any generic " left " that is completely besotted with increasingly vicious and irrational " identity politics ".
I did hear on conservative talk radio a comment that " socialism is inherently anti-Semitic ". Would " socialist " Jew, Irving Howe, author of " A Margin of Hope " and " World of Our Fathers ", have agreed ?
ALL democratic socialists rise above narrow ethno-centrism and belligerent nationalism. Only a smear campaign would associate them with " hate ". I note that the Catholic Church is frequently the target of " identity politics " smear campaigns .
I just learned from the Brown Daily Herald that our drinking water contamination can be blamed on " white supremacy ". Really, professor ?
