An independent democratic socialist observes LIFE in " OUR democracy "

Inspired from youth by Albert Camus' sense of the Absurd, I try to be a voice for REASON in the growing darkness and moral insanity of global capitalism .

Drug addiction and working class despair

Addiction must be treated as a disease- not a character defect. But the mainstream news media frequently ignores the social / economic context of drug addiction.

Millions of young working class Americans are in despair with no " future to hope in ".

As the condition of the American working class - and the ruined American middle class -deteriorates there will be more cases of seemingly hopeless drug addiction and alcoholism.
There is even now a marked class distinction in longevity -and suicide.

" Wall St. Hillary " will save them ? " For profit " treatment centers ?

It is a truly confused " identity politics " that tries to racialize every social evil and disorder.

And what is the solution ? Some militant affirmative action program for spreading and equalizing social misery ? At least " socialist " Bernie Sanders focused on the class basis of this unacceptable inequality.

Democratic socialists want to rid the world of economic misery - not equalize it.
