I just read a fascinating and enlightening essay by Gore Vidal titled " Sex is Politics " in which he comments with great wit on the Old Testament basis for condemning homosexuality : the book of Leviticus. Vidal was openly gay.
So there must be some other basis for active hatred for homosexuals apart from holy scriptures.
