The capitalist news media is clearly trying to slight the momentum of "
socialist " Democrat Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont. I was "
feeling the Bern " more than a year ago.
I expect Bernie to do just as well here in the Rhode Island Democratic Primary later this month as he did in other New England states, as he did just yesterday in Wisconsin .
And Providence, Rhode Island is becoming a lot like Detroit, Michigan. Sanders' Michigan victory shocked the political world.
In the heartland of America " democratic socialism " is not anathema. It is perceived as a reasonable solution to unacceptable economic inequality.
Neo-Democrats -like Hillary Clinton and our own Governor Gina Raimondo- are becoming more and more mired in effete " identity politics ".
I note that movie director Spike Lee ( " X " ) has endorsed Bernie Sanders. So has celebrity astrophysicist Neil De Grasse Tyson.
