Was Bernie Sanders described in Irving Howe's " World of Our Fathers " ?

As a democratic Socialist myself- as " independent " as was once Bernie Sanders- and still a critical supporter of Bernie-I do have something to say and I will say it about this  good human being from the " socialist Jew " tradition being in a toxic environment for any left-wing " progressive " : the Democratic Party and fawning- but treacherous- entertainment media " liberals ".
A serious socialist must again and again point out the corruption of capitalist based " culture ".
I think Bernie Sanders comes from the same tradition as the socialist writer Irving Howe. Howe writes about the life of immigrant Jews- many passionate socialists- in his popular book " World of Our Fathers ". It centers on the " New York intellectuals ".
In " Margin of Hope ", a political autobiography, Howe explains that socialism must be inseparable from popular democracy and should always respect the great liberal tradition of free speech and respect for the human conscience.
That socialist conscience can be quickly lost in an atmosphere of celebrity narcissism.
According to a recent poll  Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont has a 60 percent lead among voters here in Rhode Island.  Also a registered Democrat - " waiting for Lefty " -I am inclined to vote for Sanders on primary day.
