As a registered Democrat in neighboring Rhode Island -and a critical
supporter of Bernie Sanders- I was surprised by a SUDDEN poll reversal
here too. I can't believe that Establishment Hillary's less than
overwhelming victory in the Nevada caucus quickly changed minds.
Identity politics is stale. The big issue is economic inequality and the
need for peace in the Middle East.
As a democratic socialist myself I think " socialist " Bernie should team up with Jill Stein of the Green Party. We need an independent Labor Party in the United States- but with a bolder pro-socialist program.
Right now it looks like I will vote for Jill Stein in the presidential election. If Bernie meekly endorses Hillary, that is certainly THE END of Bernie's " political revolution ". I will still thank him for trying to change the Democratic Party- pull it sharply to the left. A Quixotic project.
