An ACLU issue : Cranston Walk In Clinic snubs Medicare patient

Whoever replaces Sue Stenhouse as Executive Director of Senior Services might consider the issue raised by a 67 year old man with acute leg pains turned away from that Walk In Clinic on Reservoir Ave.... because he was ONLY covered by Medicare . I was waiting in the parking lot for my friend. He was told that the doctor will NOT see him. A sign in the office said a visitor must have a valid credit card on file. I think that there is a case for ACLU here: discrimination against the MAJORITY of elderly residents in Cranston. We are long way from Senator Ted Kennedy's dream of health care as a basic human right.
