The RIPTA cutbacks should be seen in the context of a three decades long ruling class attack on the standard of living of working class Americans. The ONE PERCENT is losing patience with Big Government profligacy with THEIR tax money - which they think is best spent on criminal imperialist wars and the growing police state. Neo-Democrat hypocrite Gina Raimondo wanted RIPTA to show a little decency: just make the nearly impoverished senior citizens pay only half the proposed increases. They play this same game with the " too greedy " energy companies.
It seems that" liberal " Democrats are more successful at" terrorizing " the poor and the helpless- and ordinary working class Americans-than far away ISIS in Syria.. Only a mass movement -with millions of working class Americans in the streets protesting these ruling class attacks on their dignity and living standards- can change the balance of power in this " bloodless " ( ? ) civil war, this one sided class war.
Apart from the " socialist " message of Bernie Sanders the Democratic Party - once the party of social reform and New Deal idealism- is dead to its old loyal supporters.
The senior citizens of Rhode Island should warn young people that the dumbest thing they can do right now is listen to some Army, Navy, Marine, or Air Force recruiter and enlist to make the world safe for the ONE PERCENT. That Wilsonian blather sounds very tired to old radical souls.
