We are getting different views from left-wing groups on this epidemic of Islamophobia in America -with right wing presidential candidate Donald Trump throwing gasoline on the fire . But I am most puzzled by the recent statement of the leader of the American Socialist Workers Party Jack Barnes. He seemed to be speaking ( in latest " The Militant " ) as the best " socialist " friend of Muslims in America. He even wants to make friendly visits to their mosques. Then this :
" The fight against anti-Semitism and Jew-hatred is a burning question in the U.S. and the world, Sandler said. “The Socialist Workers Party insists that Israel has the right to exist. We support the just demands of the Palestinian people against oppression by the Israeli government and their demand for a contiguous Palestinian state. We say that Jews from anywhere in the world who feel under attack must be able to return to Israel.”
What is your view of this -and the readers ? Of course, real socialists are not anti-Semitic. But what about Zionism ?
