How to continue Dr. Martin Luther King's civil rights movement - a democratic Socialist perspective

How to continue Dr. Martin Luther King's civil rights movement ? A good question for so called people on the Left too. As a democratic Socialist am I being too bold-possibly " politically incorrect "- in asserting that King's civil rights movement -with the help of many sincere white people-did achieve its goals?  In the United States institutionalized racism is definitely ILLEGAL-and really quite rare. There remains some annoying symbolism of the old racism -like the Southern Flag. The KKK has FREE SPEECH rights just as the American Nazi Party-and that too is still " politically correct " on the democratic Left. We don't believe in punitive " political correctness ".
Why then is RACE so much in the news ? Should progressive white people be subjected to annoying sermons suggesting that they are still ALL racist deep down ?
Both Malcolm X and Martin Luther King were rightly suspected by the FBI of a certain sympathy with Marxism. Why ? Because Marx had long ago explained social inequality-post slavery- as rooted in the capitalist system.
Malcolm X was almost shockingly blunt about this : " You show me a capitalist and I'll show you a bloodsucker " .A cop does not have to be a RACIST HATER to serve the ONE PERCENT plutocracy .Liberal journalists do this smugly every day.
How many liberal Democrats - with exception of Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont - have any serious quarrel with American capitalism ?
