Is global capitalism too rotten to be reformed ? Lenin thought so in 1917

The destruction of democracy
For decades the New York Times has been identified as the authentic VOICE of the U.S. ruling class. I recall-many years ago-browsing front page news stories of dramatic world shaking events. On one point both radical journalist John Reed ( " Ten Days That Shook The World " ) and New York Times editors agreed : " Lenin is perhaps the greatest revolutionary of all time ".
The lucidity of Lenin's work " The State and Revolution " utterly baffles neo-liberal philistines today. And not a few lap dog " socialists ".
Asked if a " peaceful " revolution were possible in other countries Lenin shook his head : No, no. the ruling classes are incurably greedy.
Presently Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont is evoking nostalgic New Deal memories. Oddly enough the neo-liberals in the Democratic Party do make FDR look like a flaming Bolshevik.
But I think Lenin was right -even well into the 21st century: Global capitalism is too rotten to be reformed.Even bourgeois democracy is a serious threat to plutocratic rule. Yes, they are just PARASITES.

Lenin - greatest revolutionary ever ?
