Bertrand Russell's " Nice People " are about to bring fascism to America

I am amazed at the number of Republican presidential candidates whose political biography reveals an early infatuation with the reactionary crackpot Ayn Rand. Her cult book is aptly titled " The Virtue of Selfishness " .And how do any professed Catholics among them reconcile worship of " free market " capitalism with the quite moderate views of Pope Francis and traditional Catholic social philosophy ?
When I hear Paul Ryan fawned over as a " nice guy " I recall a biting and humorous essay by Bertrand Russell titled " Nice People ". The British philosopher - a socialist- concluded that such nice people have made life a hell for the world's not so " nice " masses.
Perhaps the British Labor Party is all about Socialism for Nice People.
Lenin, of course, was not " nice " even by Lord Russell's standards.
Trotsky also was not " nice ": he wrote about " the ideal socialist leader for successful dentists " -- invariably a worthless traitor to the working class for all his niceness.
The Nice People are about to bring fascism to America.
