Donald Trump and " It Can't Happen Here " by Sinclair Lewis

    As a democratic Socialist myself, a registered Democrat in Rhode Island ( where is the more- left- than- thou competition ? ) , I am a critical supporter of Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont. No socialist would let any oppressed minority heckler be bullied by a vicious ,angry crowd. A socialist candidate would be ashamed of their " support ". That being said, there is a FREE SPEECH crisis in this country and politically correct neo-liberals, illiberal liberals, are doing little to correct it . You must always LISTEN to your political enemies. They might , after all, have a share of TRUTH in very serious and controversial matters.
" The Donald " - Republican Donald Trump- reminds me of a Depression Era classic protest novel " It Can't Happen " by American writer Sinclair Lewis. That book was about the rise of a fascist leader in oh-so-democratic America.
Both Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump share this thought : " The American dream is dead ", 
      Socialists blame capitalism. Even Pope Francis has no love for this mean spirited social system.
ALL Republicans are fans of that militant atheist- and money worshiping reactionary - Ayn Rand. She wrote THE BOOK of the fascist movement: " The Virtue of Selfishness ".
Only a very low voter turnout can secure an election victory for Donald Trump or Dr.Ben Carson ( who always asks " What would Jesus do ? " ) .
