Teny Gross of the Center for Non-Violence needed a Saul Alinsky

Reflections of Teny Gross Like the younger Barack Obama this intelligent and humane man Teny Gross has community organizing skills but he seems to lack the equivalent of Obama's mentor Saul Alinsky , author of " Rules for Radicals ". If you are a resident of an " underprivileged " neighborhood in Providence or Chicago, it's nice to know that the charismatic community organizer is ON YOUR SIDE -not the side of the police-even if the goal is reformist, non-violent change. I can imagine a Christian evangelical pitching a tent in South Providence, sermonizing about LOVE every night, collecting LOVE money. But before seeing the community bursting with LOVE-and after sundry rich patrons are disappointed- moving the evangelical tent to Central Falls.
Perhaps Teny Gross' skills in teaching non-violence to the brutalized will succeed in far away Israel- where Netanyahu just vowed ( headline news ) to fight the Palestinian " violence " to the death .
In the NPR interview Teny Gross claimed to know every person of means and influence in Rhode Island. Did he preach non-violence to the police and the ruling class ?
Is the ROOT of violence the ignorance and nastiness of the restless young and " underprivileged " in Rhode Island or Palestine ?
Well, even well meaning preachers of LOVE, NON-VIOLENCE, etc. must pay the rent .God helps those who help themselves !
Well Teny Gross tried !
