Oddly enough, Albert Einstein had very similar views about the Bible, the Biblical God, and traditional religious faith. As for " faith in God" even Catholic Saints -like Mother Teresa- had the inevitable " dark night of the soul ".
No more than the very " spiritual " deist Albert Einstein can the shy titan of modern biology ,Charles Darwin, serve as a strident and obnoxious and hateful VOICE of the New Atheism.
Just recently Pope Francis announced to the whole world that the church does not reject modern science, Darwinian evolution or the Big Bang- the very " moment of creation " -for both atheists and Catholic theologians.
The author of " God Is Not Great... how religion poisons everything," Christopher Hitchens ,wanted militant atheism to serve the cause of Islamophobia and U.S. imperialism in Iraq and Afghanistan and now other countries of the Middle East.
Curiously many fanatical Zionists are New Atheists and New Atheist propagandists.
One Pamela Geller is a voice of the New Atheism- if not Christian Zionism. Her blog title honors the militant atheist Ayn Rand : " Atlas Shrugged ". She is banned as a hate monger in the United Kingdom .
