The Narragansett Beer owners already gave this now and then beer drinker indigestion when I beheld that American Gothic face of " I love Providence " horror writer, H.P. Lovecraft, on a can of Narragansett beer. Lovecraft despised all mind numbing alcoholic beverages. And he never sold out to philistine, commercial " success ". He died relatively poor in the Depression year of 1937. His numerous LETTERS show him to be a moderate Socialist-who would vote for Bernie Sanders today.The Depression cured him of early " aristocratic " snobbery.
