The Republican pillars of Bible based " morality " are as
hypocritical as back when the late great science writer Isaac Asimov
-defending the teaching of evolution in the public schools against
creationist rubbish-wrote his essay against the Christian Right Moral
Majority : " The Armies of the Night ".
How can Right- to- Lifers be so mean and nasty ? Most of them are enthusiastic supporters of the state death penalty and imperialist wars. They ALL oppose national health care.
However, a vocal and obnoxious group called the New Atheists have made a career of bashing working class religious people and the Catholic Church. Their ilk is represented by one Christopher Hitchens, a drunken supporter of the U.S. invasion of Iraq and a hateful Islamophobe.
Most of the New Atheists have found a goddess in the militant atheist Ayn Rand- whose cult book is titled " The Virtue of Selfishness ".
For Ayn Rand the most virtuous people on the planet were capitalist billionaires.
I never met an honest socialist with a passion for religion bashing. Correct me if I am wrongheaded here.
