Lovecraft's face on Campbell's Soup ?

                                                                                                              I wonder how Lovecraft's "sense of humor " would have reacted to his American Gothic face on a can of Narragansett beer ? Lovecraft had a horror of alcoholic beverages- which makes the drinker " regress a million years ".
I can , however, picture that eldritch Lovecraft face on a can of Campbell's Soup. He lists this as a staple item in his diet when he was living in relative poverty in a Great Depression year.
Individuals trying to make a fortune on H.P. Lovecraft today should be reminded that this impoverished " gentleman " never sold out.
And oddly enough, although associated with half-cracked occultism, Lovecraft himself was a scientific materialist. But even science cannot spare us from COSMIC HORROR.


       

The Providence horror writer H.P. Lovecraft was by the year of his death( 1937) an ardent socialist. He was a critical supporter of FDR back then. If he were alive today, I have no doubt he would write a long letter to the Providence Journal supporting the" socialist " Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont. His fans should appreciate this fact about HPL.
