We need to question the state system in America

Ralph Nader on the electoral college  Does anybody ever ask why Rhode Island governors and mayors almost routinely disappoint the voting majority ? It can't be that the voters are just born suckers unable to judge true character.I don't think politicians are on a lower ethical level than the all-business class. The problem is the straitjacket of state budgets.
The problem of budget limitations is hopeless on the state level. We need to question the state system in America. Should states be almost like sovereign countries? Let us share the NATIONAL WEALTH.
And the voting majority is stymied by the ridiculous Electoral College-which will frustrate democracy in America again and again. Nothing unique about the 2000 election.
