As a democratic Socialist myself I agree in general with most of
Bernie's ideas about what is wrong with American capitalist society.
Bernie is more a socialist DEMOCRAT limited by his party loyalty. It is
obvious to me that an American Socialist government would -with
righteous audacity- tax the ONE PERCENT plutocracy out of existence. It
would at least begin to establish true social control over this
country's vast resources and means of production. It will revive the
Native American belief that only the Great Spirit can OWN the earth.
For now loosely organized socialists must challenge the very legitimacy of " legitimate " wealth in America-like trust funds for rich kids and fortunes for greedy old -or greedy young-widows.
A Socialist America will abolish all state lotteries. And no more radio and TV commercials for vulgar consumerism. No more professional sports millionaires. No more elite prep schools and universities. No more parasite landlords. No more contempt for ecology.
In short no more privileged class.
