I have followed this dispute-over decent WELCOME VISITORS rest rooms-between the Preservation Society of Newport County and the heirs of Vanderbilts of the Gilded Age. But even upper class -indeed upper upper class people-can appreciate the need for clean, decent , respectable TOILETS after a long trip. Or is this merely a vulgar middle class preoccupation ? Also gilded are the body excretions of our Old Ruling Class Families ?
The American tourist industry would benefit greatly by showing greater respect for the human body. Old Europe is way ahead of us here.
