Today's
Catholics who are not " haters " can find a Pre-Vatican II excuse for
accepting state recognized gay marriage. I have an old Baltimore
Catechism and its tells me that Holy Mother Church will not recognize as
"holy " ANY marriage by the STATE.
As a socialist I find a more secular reason to be cynical -not rejecting-of gay marriage: the institution of STATE MARRIAGE is a pillar of bourgeois society and PRIVATE PROPERTY. Ask old Freddy Engels ( " The Origin of the Family, Private Property, and the State " ) .
Gay marriage will make gay divorce a lawyer's paradise. Even traditional marriage is not all about LOVE. Like traditional marriage it is all about MONEY
