Early Christians were socialists

Despite the tendency of capitalism to atomize individuals in capitalist society, Socialist ideas are at work wherever human beings are free to act in accordance with primal communal instincts. The pristine FAMILY, for example, is a fundamentally egalitarian institution. Primitive humans had no state and no rigid hierarchy. Sharing collective WEALTH -in whatever form - was a must for survival of the GROUP. Many centuries later we see the capitalist social order making the INDIVIDUAL property owner superior to the group.
Confronted by any great calamity this bourgeois individualism will ruin the human species. The fundamental principle of Socialism is simply that the group is always and everywhere superior to the individual. There is no " Virtue of Selfishness ". You might say that Jesus Christ and the Sermon on the Mount trump Ayn Rand.By the way, Engels pointed out that the early Christians were socialists in practice.
