Speaking about insurance, George

George Bennett in his recent letter ("Aiming for comets", Nov. 12) writes: "I was amazed to learn that an attempted landing of a scientific probe on a comet was underway". And I am amazed to learn that the probe landing was successful.
And speaking of insurance George, we now have real high tech, space age hope of saving the Good Earth from catastrophic collision with a menacing asteroid. What would the late great popular science writer Isaac Asimov think about this breakthrough? A constructive use of nuclear weapons here? At least WE need not perish like the dinosaurs. Perhaps the Ebola Plague will end the glorious era of homo sapiens?
