" Depressed bears to get herbal remedy" ( in the news) Naturally, if the " depressed" bears in the Beardsley Zoo, Connecticut, could talk, they would sound like our beloved ex-president, Ronald Reagan :

Of course, Dutch himself never sounded like an animal rights fanatic. But I'll risk that here !
Abolish the zoos! We no longer need them to educate city folk about the wonders of LIFE ON EARTH. Television and film - like the National Geographic series- do a far better job.
The bears , Nikki and No Oreja, need the freedom of the wild more than St. John's wort. Good advice for humans too: Better to be free than let drugs like Prozac reconcile you to a miserable life of slavery and drudgery.
Last night I dreamed about " Skipper " - our beloved family dog,now ten years dead. He was licking me on the face- a wild " bum " of a dog till the end .
The dream was his way of sending me a message:
Free the bears ! Abolish zoos !
