Sadly, there was evidence for this last time I visited the Adams Library on the Rhode College campus. I have not visited the URI library for years where I liked to browse old periodicals :" Life Magazine", " Readers Digest", " Time Magazine" , " Science Digest". Even old " dated" Science and Math books.I recently joined the legendary Providence Athenaeum where lurk the ghosts of Edgar Allan Poe and H.P.Lovecraft. And there is an old fashioned card catalogue!
