Hypocritical drivel from Defense Secretary , James Mattis, at Naval War College

[ Putin seeks to shatter NATO,” Mattis said, pointing out that security threats also come by way of ideologies. “He aims to diminish the appeal of the western democratic model and attempts to undermine America’s moral authority.” ]

The Defense Secretary was speaking at the Naval War College in Newport , Rhode Island , on Friday ( Providence Journal online ).

I could at least COMMENT on this ever moralizing American imperialism propaganda drivel a month ago. Since then -right after the Providence Journal published an editorial titled " Free Speech For All " - the company dropped COMMENTS but kept the phony message JOIN THE CONVERSATION on the OP-ED page, the printed and on-line editions.

The executive editor of the newspaper, Allan Rosenberg , did thank me for pointing out the error here. I had to go over the head of the editorial page editor , Ed Achorn, and inform- via email- their NEWSTIPS section. Mr. Rosenberg politely replied.

Perhaps the Providence Journal could publish an editorial explaining the essence of " America's moral authority ".

I might then- IN VAIN -send these guardians of American moral authority some excerpts from Leon Trotsky's essay " Their Morals and Ours ".

It seems that it is sadly impossible for the oppressed and the oppressors to share a common MORALITY.

If they were half-honest, the voices of the American ruling class might editorialize on the FAILURE OF CAPITALISM in post Soviet Union era Russia.
