I recall reading Leon Trotsky's lecture against the foolishness of
individual terrorism ( like that of Hodgkinson ) way back in a year that
tempted it -1968.
Based on what I have read so far ( not too much "
fake news " , I hope ) he was a ruined small businessman- with some
personality disorder.
Of great human interest is what happened
to this troubled soul in the last few weeks of his life. " Living out
of his van " , I read. Was this 66 year old white male both homeless and
mentally disturbed ?
He could have been collecting social security-
which at least puts you a notch above pathetic desperation. Of course
the Trump gang would like to destroy what is left of New Deal "
progress ".
ANY wounded human being is a sad sight in the
surgery room..And a coroner too observes : " we are really so much alike
" - at least in death.
The whole point of socialist humanism is to rid the
world of cruel violence. I just learned that my 35 year old married
niece is finally expecting her first child. Only a born ogre will not
hope for a happier and healthier future for ALL humanity. Yes, the
future belongs to the young.
