A sensitive , compassionate but still constrained point of view here.

"We are all complicit in the societal structure that perpetuates homelessness and poverty." That societal structure is nothing but the capitalist way of life. Is it asking too much of Brown scholars to understand that the institution of private property ( MY MONEY, MY property ) stymies help for all these homeless people ?

To start : we need rent control. Socialism a little later. Spare change helps for now too.
